Monthly Chamber Luncheon
Join us for our monthly Connection Luncheon!
Our speaker this month is Jeff Luttrell, Director of Wilson County Schools speaking on the
State of Education
Mr. Luttrell began his 31+-year career in education in Trousdale County, prior to coming to Wilson County in 2000 as a teacher and coach at Watertown High School. He became principal at Watertown High School in 2007 and served in that role until 2019 when he accepted the position of Human Resources Supervisor for Wilson County Schools.
The Wilson County Board of Education selected Mr. Luttrell as the new Director of Schools as of July 1, 2021.
During his time at Watertown High School, the school received numerous scholastic honors and state awards. Through his leadership, Watertown High School saw significant increases in graduation rates and ACT scores.
Mr. Luttrell was named 2019 Middle Tennessee Principal of the Year by the Tennessee Association of Secondary Principals. Most recently, he was named 2023 Superintendent of the Year by the Professional Educators of Tennessee. Mr. Luttrell holds multiple higher education degrees and certifications.
Amid the pandemic and the loss of two schools to the March 2020 tornadoes, Wilson County Schools continued to exceed the State average in graduation rate, and ACT score for the 2021-2022 school year. In addition, eight schools received Reward School status for the 2022-2023 school year.
Jeff and his wife, Tiffany enjoy spending time with their family and working on their farm in Watertown, Tennessee.
